(2)   Job Description

Laser Applied Chemistry laboratory is looking for a postdoctoral fellow in the field of physical chemistry/physics or closely related fields to fulfill the position of Research Fellow. The followings are the major needs of the position.

-      Synthesis and characterizations of nanomaterials or nanocomposites used for photocatalytic activities in the energy and environmental applications.

-      Characterization and potential applications of carbon (or nitrogen-doped) nanomaterials.

-      Synthesis of functional nanomaterials using pulsed laser ablation in liquid (PLAL)

-      Time-resolved dynamics studies of plasma plume and cavitation bubbles induced from PLAL.


(3)   Expectations from the applicants

Laser Applied Chemistry laboratory prefers the person with these abilities.

-      Good communication skills in English (oral and written).

-      Ability to produce articles effectively

-      Ability to work in a team as well as independently without supervision.

-      Able to work effectively in a multidisciplinary research environment.

-      2~3-year previous experience working in these fields

-      Oversees the progress of various related projects

-      Assists in project proposal writing

-      Assists in student (graduate and/or undergraduate) supervision

-      Contributes to the development of innovative, impactful research, and ideas for future research


(4)   Analysis instruments used in this laboratory

X-ray diffractometer (XRD), Field Emission Transmission Electron Microscope (FE-TEM), Field-Emission Scanning Electron Microscope (FE-SEM), X-ray photoelectron Spectroscopy (XPS), FT-IR spectrometer, HR Micro Raman spectrometer, UV/Vis/NIR SpectrophotometerICP-Mass spectrometer, Particle Size & Zeta Potential Analyzer, Photoluminescence (PL) Spectrometer, Gas Chromatograph (GC) Analysis
